Armed Robbery In Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs Police are investigating an armed robbery at 1724 South Circle Drive that happened Wednesday evening.

Police say it happened just after 6:30 Wednesday evening at the Cricket store near South Circle and Monterey Road. The suspect got away with money, police said. No one was hurt, said police.

Witnesses told police the robbery suspect was a Hispanic man, 5′ 1″ tall, 140 lbs, wearing a black hoodie, a white shirt under the hoodie and black pants. They also say the suspect was wearing a mask, said police.

About 5 minutes later police suspect the same person attempted to take a car from a woman at the Diamond Shamrock across the street. The woman grabbed her purse and car keys and went into the gas station and the suspect ran off, police said.
