UPDATE: 3 Arrested In Stratmoor Stabbing

A 57-year-old man is stabbed several times in his home. El Paso County Sheriff’s officials said they have arrested three people.

Sheriff’s officials said the victim lost a lot of blood and was barely conscious when they arrived around 9 p.m. Friday. He was transported to the hospital.

The mother of the victim tells KRDO Newschannel 13 he is in critical condition.

Deputies said they found the suspects car on Burnham Street around 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Neighbors were startled early Saturday morning as SWAT teams executed their search warrant at a Burnham street home.

“It sounded like something just blew up,” said Bonnie Turner who lives next door to the home officials searched. “There were three people on my drive with dogs, and then, over there cop cars and down here was cop cars. Everywhere you looked there was more and more cop cars every minute.”

Three people were taken out of the home and arrested, officials said. Sheriff’s officials said the suspects included a 17-year-old man, who faced charges attempted murder and first degree assault. He is being held in the Spring Creek Detention Center. Authorities said they also arrested Kevin Jenkins, 28, on charges of accessory to criminal attempted murder. Brelyson Kerley, 31, also faced charges of accessory to criminal attempted murder.

For Turner and her family it’s hard to swallow that their neighbors who they thought they knew are not who they appear to be. “These are not strangers. These are people that we actually talk to everyday and let them borrow our car and to find out stuff like this happens… it’s crazy, ” said Robin Spratley who lives in the neighborhood.
