Safeway Recalls 4 Bagged Salad Mixes

Safeway is recalling four of its “Safeway Farms” bagged salad mixes due to possible E. coli contamination.

The recalled products were sold from Nov. 7-16 and have since been pulled from store shelves.

The following products have been recalled:

1) Safeway Farms Caesar Romaine, 10 ounce Lot #: IR501788 UPC Code: 0-21130-98350-6

2) Safeway Farms Hearts of Romaine, 9 ounce Lot #: IR501789 UPC Code: 0-21130-98358-2

Customers are asked not to consume the recalled products and return them to their place of purchase for a refund. No illnesses have been reported.

E. Coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacteria that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure. Children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are at the most susceptible to foodborne illness.
