Bear Safely Removed From Tree Near Airport
A bear stuck in a tree near the Colorado Springs Airport is now safely back on the ground.
Steve Cooley with the Division of Wildlife says the bear was about 400 pounds and he expected the bear to be difficult to get.
“He is in such heavy cover, inside the tree, that it is really difficult to see in the tree to get a good shot of his body,” said Cooley.
It took a few hours but the bear is gone.
Cooley says it is rare for a bear to go as far east as the airport but it isn’t unheard of. He said they had to relocate a bear a few years ago from the same area.
