An Easy “A”?

There are more than 31-hundred businesses in Southern Colorado that are affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. Recently, a Target 13 Investigation I was involved in got me wondering about what the BBB grades really mean.

I learned that it’s not an easy “A” to get into the Better Business Bureau. BBB, CEO, Carol Odell tells me that you have to be vetted by a committee to get your business in the organization. The specifics of that investigation include consumer complaints and resolution of them, company history and if there’s any government or legal action against the business that wants to get into the Better Business Bureau.

Odell said after the process is completed, “we are seeking businesses with the highest standards, so you would anticipate they would have an “A” rating.

One business we recently profiled in a Target 13 Investigation apparently had an “A” minus rating three months ago. Currently it has a no rating. That no rating means the BBB is looking at updating its records about the company. Those updates include researching consumer complaints, resolutions to them and other pertinent data to decide a future rating for this business.
