Roofer Answers Our Questions

For months, Target 13 has been trying to get a hold of Camelback Roofing’s Ross Hendrickson. We received several complaints about what homeowners are calling shoddy work by the company.

I received a viewer tip from Frank Puett in Colorado Springs. He was getting a final roof inspection by a Regional Building inspector. Camelback Ross Hendrickson was there too.

Puett’s home did not pass this final inspection. The inspector is compiling a list of repairs that needs to be completed before the home’s roof passes inspection. The homeowner was angry over how Hendrickson turned what he believed was a two week roofing job and stretched into more than three months also for what he labelled shoddy work.

This roofing job was more than a 14-thousand dollar repair. Ross Hendrickson told me that final roof inspections don’t always get passed by Regional Building, the first time. Hendrickson said he wanted to wait to see what repairs need to be done on the home to get it to pass.

The Homeowner said he didn’t want Camelback to do the repairs. I brokered a deal between the two to get whatever repairs need to be done on the Puett home done by a different roofer. Camelback Roofing would receive whatever the difference is between the remaining insurance money and what the new roofer charges to make the repairs to make the home pass final inspection. Hendrickson said to us about dealing with this angry homeowner, “I know he will never be happy, but i will break my back to try and do everything i can to take care of him.”

I also asked Ross Hendrickson questions about who he uses to do roofing work. Camelback Roofing is accused of using homeless people or day laborers to do roofing work. Hendrickson says he hired them for cleanup, not to do roofing. We’ll continue to follow up on roof repairs.
