Storms Blow Small Town Around

Hundreds are still without power and are now working around the clock to clean up the mess brought on by hurricane-force winds.

?It?s almost like a tornado came through here,? said David Becker.

It wasn?t a tornado, but Stonewall faced winds of more than 100 mph this weekend.

?It?s like nothing I’ve ever seen, and the people who have been here for 90 years have never seen anything like it,? said Becker.

Jerry Sinor was in his home when the destructive winds hit.

?You couldn’t go outside your door because you’d get blown away. I went outside, and it blew me over. I had to crawl back inside to get in my door,? said Sinor.

Once inside, that?s where he stayed until the storm was over. Now, all his time is spent outside.

?Most of us are just about ready to drop. Thank goodness we have a good community that helps each other out,? said Sinor.

They?ll be helping each other for a while to clean up the damage around town.

?This is going to be going on until springtime, because once the heavy winter and snow gets here, we won’t be able to do much work,? said Sinor.

No one was seriously injured.
