Man Arrested In Standoff
Colorado Springs police said one person has been arrested for attempted murder after a standoff situation on Foxridge Drive.
Police said the situation started Sunday night when a man threatened his estranged wife and her brother with a gun. Officials said the man pointed the gun at his brother-in-law and pulled the trigger, but it did not fire. The brother-in law then beat up the man, according to Colorado Springs police.
Colorado Springs police came to the man’s home before dawn Monday morning.
“He wouldn’t come out,” said Sgt. Joel Kern with the Colorado Springs police department. “Eventually gas had to be deployed in the attic, at which time the suspect came out and complied and came out and was put under arrest for attempted murder.”
He was arrested and taken to the hospital, for injuries he got Sunday night.
“There was definitely a fight that occurred and that’s why he’s being seen at the hospital at this time,” said Kern.
Officials have not yet released the name of the suspect.
