Shooting in Pueblo Sends One Person to The E.R.

Pueblo Police are still investigating a shooting that happened around 2 a.m. on the 1300 hundred block of Horseshoe Drive, in the Belmont area. The victim is Darren Hurd.

?I just woke up in the middle of the night and I heard shouting, yelling,” said a neighbor who couldn?t show his face on camera.

He said he thought it was a party until her heard gunshots.

?It was in two waves: bang, bang, bang, bang, then stopped, then bang, bang, bang, bang–that was it.?

?It was about two in the morning, my wife and I were sound asleep and I woke up to tatatata. It sounded like 12 to 16 shots,? said Dany Lucero.

Trails of the shooting are still imprinted in the neighborhood.

?I was definitely scared for my family,? said Lucero.

Neighbors said CSU-Pueblo football players were involved. Police said they have also heard that, but were unable to confirm it. However, police say it was a college party.

Police told KRDO NewsChannel 13 the victim was shot in the chest. The injuries are not life-threatening but the victim is in serious condition, according to police. The victim was taken to Parkview Hospital

Police also don?t believe the shooting was gang-related.

?I let the police do their work and trust in our police work,? said Lucero.

There is still no word if anyone has been arrested.
