SWAT Teams Search For Fugitive

SWAT teams have closed the 2300 block of La Salle at Monteagle St. while they search for a fugitive.

Colorado Springs police say they were executing a search warrant at 9 a.m. for a Nov. 1 Walgreens robbery suspect.

They have detained two people in their search Thursday. Neither are under arrest, but they are being questioned.

In the Nov. 1 robbery, a man held up a Walgreens just before 2 a.m. Officers say the robber went into the pharmacy on N. Circle Drive near Galley Road, handed the clerk a note and demanded money. He then took the cash and ran.

Police say that suspect is described as a black male, about 30 years old, and was wearing blue jeans and a white hoodie.

SWAT teams first searched a Colorado Springs neighborhood on Howard Avenue and Palmer Park Boulevard on Thursday. However, teams left that area and continued their search on La Salle.

La Salle is still closed while crews clear equipment from the scene.
