Suspect Arrested In Attempted Taco Bell Robbery

Police have arrested the suspect in an attempted robbery at the Taco Bell at 502 W Garden of the Gods Rd.

A suspect, who claimed he had a knife, approached a manager around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money. The suspect left without any money, but told the manager he would return. He was described as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Colorado Springs Police searched the area after the robbery and found a man matching the description of the suspect. He was found in the lobby of Ace Cash Express trying to put a black hooded sweatshirt into a garbage can.

Police arrested the man who is identified as Scott Haines and, after questioning, determined he was responsible for the attempted robbery.

He is being charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
