If Joe Paterno Coached In Colorado

Lots of legal questions are being discussed about Joe Paterno not reporting to law enforcement in Pennsylvania, the alleged child sexual assault that he was informed about, from a third party. What if JoePa coached in Colorado? What would be his duties under Colorado law to report an alleged assault?

District Attorney Dan May who represents El Paso and Teller counties tells me, “if they suspect child abuse they must report it to the Department of Human Services or local law enforcement or they can report it to someone else who does” May adds, “they have to make sure it got reported or they will be held criminally liable.”

Colorado law also gives immunity to someone who reports suspected child abuse. May adds you can’t be sued or charged if you reported what you saw in good faith.
