Cars Stolen From Driveways
Colorado Springs police said they are investigating several car thefts that happened Wednesday morning.
According to officers, two of the car thefts may be linked. They both happened within a block of each other.
A 2007 black Mazda 3 GT was stolen from the 4900 block of Bluestem Drive. It has license plate number 298VSS.
Chris Cerasoli owns the car. He said he went inside to get his son for just a minute Wednesday morning and when he went back outside, his car was gone.
Cerasoli has put a lot of work into his car. He said many of the custom parts would not work in another vehicle.
A short time after that car theft, a 2006 black Chevy Tahoe was stolen from the 5000 block of Chickweed Drive. Its license plate number is 178PWI.
We spoke to the victim’s sister, Renee Ralston, who said they watched the theft happen. Her sister, Natalie Wagner, was trying to drop off her daughter when it happened.
Wagner is pregnant and ran after her car when it was stolen. Her car was not running, but she had left her purse in the car and the car keys were in her purse.
Both victims said they couldn’t believe how quickly these thefts happened.
Police also reported that a third car, a blue Ford Expedition was stolen from the 4200 block of Pebble Ridge Circle. It has license plate number 034VTV.
