UPDATE: 2 Juveniles Arrested In Carjacking
Two juveniles have been arrested in connection to a carjacking.
The carjacking happened last Thursday at the 7-Eleven at Powers and Palmer Park. Deputies say a green Toyota four-runner was stolen at gunpoint with license plate number 407-TOM.
On Monday around 3:15 p.m., a Sand Creek High School resource officer saw a vehicle that matched the description of the stolen vehicle. He began to follow the vehicle and informed CSPD. Units ensued in a short chase before the vehicle crashed into a curb near Austin Bluffs and Stetson Hills.
A suspect got out of the car and tried to run away. Officers were able to catch him and arrest him. Seven others were also in the vehicle and were taken into custody for questioning. All of the individuals are juveniles.
After the interviews, El Paso County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male for aggravated robbery, aggravated motor vehicle theft, and menacing. Both suspects were booked into the Spring Creek Juvenile Detention Center.
