One Man Mini Crime Wave

One man’s become a mini-crime wave in Colorado Springs. This thief has targeted two Walgreens pharmacies. October 27 at 8:35 pm was the first of the two robberies. The suspect showed a gun and demanded prescription pain pills from the pharmacy.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 11:20 pm, the same man walked into the Walgreens Pharmacy on 1855 South Nevada Avenue. He did a repeat robbery performance of showing a gun, demanding prescription medication and taking off.

Colorado Springs Police Detective Mark Chacon tells me that this suspect also has a tendency to mill around the pharmacy for a few minutes looking at items in the aisle before he hits the pharmacy.

The suspect is a white male early 20s, 6′ tall, 150 to 160 lbs. The robber also is wearing a ball cap with a dark wig underneath in both robberies.

Colorado Springs Police have seen a spike in pharmacy robberies in 2011. So far, they’ve investigated 13 pharmacy robberies in 2011. They’ve solved six of those 13. There were only 10 pharmacy robberies in 2009 and 2010 combined.
