2 Protesters Arrested In Acacia Park

Two protesters were arrested in Acacia Park Saturday after police said they put up tents and ignored a warning from officers to take them down.

Police said Timothy Semple, 28, and Amber Hagen, 22, duct-taped themselves to the tent poles and refused to move. Police said they cut the tape and arrested the pair. They’re charged with Interference with a Public Official under the city code, a misdemeanor.

Occupy Colorado Springs organizer Jason Warf said that Semple and Hagen are not with Occupy and have formed a separate group with a few others.

Others tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that Semple and Hagen are Occupy protesters, and the group in Acacia Park has splintered into two.
