Ignited Gas Vapors Flash On Restaurant Worker

Ignited natural gas vapors flashed on a worker’s face at the Do Drop Inn on 944 E. Kimble in Pueblo West.

Pueblo West Fire Department says the pilot light went out on the hot water heater in the basement and gas build up was significant.

PWFD says the Inn workers did not ventilate enough before they tried to relight the pilot light, causing the ignited vapor to flash in the worker’s face.

The worker had some minor flash burns to the face, but PWFD says they will be okay. The flash was confined to the water heater and there was no structural damage to the building.
