Affidavit Reveals More On Security Stabbing, Kidnapping

According to court documents, 35-year-old Herbert Hudson entered the home of 48-year-old Paul Duhamel on Tuesday.

A man who was in the basement of the home told police he heard somebody yell ?help me he is trying to kill me.?

Police say when the witness went upstairs, he found 23-year-old Danielle Garcia, Duhamel and Hudson on the staircase.

According to the affidavit, Hudson ?was making stabbing motions with his hand.? The witness also told police Hudson had a knife that was approximately 6 inches long.

The affidavit said that when witness attempted to help Duhamel, Hudson said ?don?t even try it.?

Police said Duhamel was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds and two collapsed lungs.

Witnesses told KRDO Newschannel 13 after stabbing Duhamel, Hudson kidnapped Garcia at knife-point.

Police say Hudson was later apprehended outside his Pueblo home, while Garcia was found at a home on the 400 block of Prairie Drive in Colorado Springs.

Sgt. Michael Schaller, El Paso County Sheriff?s Office, said it was Garcia?s mother who told deputies where she was.

?We had spoken to the mom to let her know what was going on and once the daughter called her mom, that?s when she then called us. So she reached out. It took her several hours to reach out,? said Schaller.

Schaller said they are still investigating how and why Garcia and Hudson separated.

?Right now, detectives are still shoring up loose ends. They?re still conducting interviews, following up with Danielle and other witnesses, speaking with the police department and making sure that the whole case is put together so it can be presented to the District Attorney?s Office for the filing of charges,? said Schaller.
