Public Comment Sought On Proposed Oil And Gas Regulations
El Paso County Development Services and the Board of County Commissioners is seeking public comment on proposed local regulations specific to oil and gas drilling in unincorporated portions of El Paso County.
El Paso County residents are encouraged to study the DRAFT regulations posted here and to submit their written comments to: dsdccomments@elpasoco.com.
The proposed regulations are intended to: ~Facilitate oil and gas exploration in a responsible manner ~Preserve and protect private property rights ~Avoid or mitigate damage to infrastructure as a result of exploration activities ~Protect wildlife and the environment
The El Paso County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on the proposed regulations later this month or early in December. The regulations along with Planning Commission recommendations will then move on for consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.
