Advisement Hearing For Embezzlement Suspect
A woman accused of embezzling $460,000 from her employer is in court for an advisement hearing Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
CSPD obtained an arrest warrant for Christina Michelle Bratcher on Friday, charging her with theft, a class 3 felony, for her embezzlement of funds from Colorado Welding Supply in Colorado Springs.
Bratcher was employed as the book keeper when she allegedly issued large checks from the business account to herself.
The owners of the business had to file for bankruptcy protection and sell their business. They discovered the theft during bankruptcy proceedings. Detectives say Bratcher would hide the theft by falsifying entries in the business check ledgers, saying they were going to vendors.
