Couple Accused Of Murder Appear In Court

The couple accused of luring a man to their Calhan home and then killing him are appearing in court for the first time. Mark Manyik and Traci Adams will be in court at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Arrest records say the couple confessed to plotting the killing and then calling 911 saying the victim had broken in. Investigators say the day before the killing Manyik told Adams that he wanted to quote “do something” to her ex. Robert Miles ended up at the couple’s house last weekend. Manyik called 911 saying Miles had busted down the door and that he had shot the alleged intruder with a 12 gauge shotgun. Manyik and Adams were questioned and released but the next day investigators say Miles’ friends told them that Adams invited Miles over for a romantic evening, saying her boyfriend Manyik was out of town. Detectives say Adams called Miles 16 times the day he was shot, the last time just minutes before. Investigators say they also recovered a voicemail from Manyik to Miles that said he was going to shoot him in the belly with a 12 gauge. Officers say the couple got rid of Miles’ cell phone, so there wouldn’t be evidence.

Manyik and Adams face several charges including murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
