Busy Day Before Election
It may be Halloween, but there’s no trick only treat when it comes to dropping off your ballots for Tuesday’s election. I checked out one of the drop off sites in El Paso County.
There was a steady stream of voters dropping off their ballots. El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Wayne Williams tells me roughly 82,000 of the 240,000 ballots have been returned as of Monday night. Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz tells me, 30,000 of the 82,000 ballots that went out in the mail have also been returned.
Tuesday’s election is considered an off year election. Typically, these elections have lower turnout. The highest elections are the ones where you vote for president. Gubnatorial elections are second highest.
