Glowing Safety Audits Before Illness Outbreaks Common

Private inspectors gave Jensen Farms a superior safety rating the same month the deadly listeria outbreak started, and it turns out that that’s not uncommon. In fact most of the notorious food-illness outbreaks in recent years had glowing private safety audits.

Safety experts slam the third-party audits as a conflict of interest and now some are asking for greater oversight and screening.
