Update: Pueblo Crews Rushing To Repair Major Water Outage
A major water main break knocked out service to thousands of residents Thursday evening.
The problem was first reported just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of East 12th Street and North Erie Avenue. Crews reported a major break in a 20-inch transmission line.
For a brief time after the initial failure, water pressure was sapped as far away as Pueblo Community College.
Crews isolated the break and restored pressure to homes in outlying areas.
As of late Thursday evening, the only customers still affected were in the immediate area surrounding the repair, between East 8th and 12th streets extending several blocks in each direction.
For east side customers, the water outage may not be fully repaired until between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday.
