Paranormal Group Allowed Back At Cemetery
Paranormal and the Unexplained Research and Exploration (P.U.R.E.) has been allowed back at Evergreen Cemetery.
PURE was banned from the cemetery in August.
Cemetery manager Will DeBoer said he received a report in June from another paranormal group who attended a tour and claimed they witnessed disrespectful behavior.
Rocky Mountain Paranormal, a paranormal skeptic group, documented the tour with a video camera and wrote a full report.
?They were banging on mausoleum doors asking, ?Why does it smell in there??” said Matthew Baxter, paranormal claims investigator with Rocky Mountain Paranormal.
Masandra Gray with P.U.R.E. admits that some tour goers knocked on doors, but it was the only time it ever happened.
?In fact, the team leader who allowed it to happen is no longer a part of our team,? said Gray.
She also said Baxter used a different name when signing up for the tour. They called themselves Mile High Paranormal. Gray said she knew right away who they really were and anticipated trouble.
?This is their M.O. This is what they do,? she said.
In the report, Baxter and his partner, Bryan Bonner, claim that P.U.R.E also told tour goers that there weren?t any restrooms, but men could relieve themselves outside, just not on the graves.
P.U.R.E denies that claim and said it takes tour groups to a convenience store during the entire tour.
?This is completely getting blown out of proportion. We are not the first group of people, paranormal people, that they?ve done this to and they will continue to do this,? said Gray.
Evergreen Cemetery allows viable organizations with proper liability insurance to use the cemetery for ghost hunting tours.
?I?ve never had a complaint from a anybody about the tours,? DeBoer said.
But after reading the report and watching the video, DeBoer felt the behavior was disrespectful and banned P.U.R.E from the cemetery.
?Anybody who feels we have been disrespectful, our sincerest apologies to the community, to your family, to your loved ones. We never meant to do any harm,? said Gray.
On Tuesday afternoon after KRDO Newschannel 13 aired the story, P.U.R.E and DeBoer had a meeting. Gray said P.U.R.E is allowed back at the cemetery.
Gray also said she is seeking legal counsel in the matter against Rocky Mountain.
