Pueblo Family Suspects Arson

A fire nearly destroys the home of a family in Pueblo. It happened off of 8th street in Bessemer area of Pueblo. Firefighters responded quickly, and luckily, there were no injures. Police don?t think this fire was an accident.

A five-year-olds playground was destroyed by the flames.

?She just came home and cried and cried about her stuff. I don’t care about my shed, but why go and do it to my five-year-old daughter,? said Raelenen Pacheco.

Pacheco and her husband woke up to banging on her doors and windows. Their neighbor was trying to warn them, their backyard was going up in flames.

?She was an angel that God sent to us. If she wouldn’t have been awake it would have been bad for everyone in the neighborhood,? said Pacheco.

She believes it?s arson. The police report states John Vialpando is a suspect.

Pacheco told KRDO Newschannel 13, Vialpando was mad because a deal to buy his car fell through.

?We were victimized, it wasn’t the other way around,? said Pacheco.

A lantern that didn?t belong to Pacheco was found in the backyard. It?s being held as evidence.

?I’m hoping they can actually get him and keep him behind bars,? said Pacheco.

The police report states Vialpando told police he had been home all night. Vialpando is only a suspect and has not been arrested.
