Anti-Wall Street Protesters Warned

Protesters are still out in Acacia Park for Occupy Colorado Springs, despite the fact that police have been threatening to ticket and possibly arrest anyone who violates the no camping ban.

Sunday, protesters remained at the intersection of Tejon and Bijou all night long. That night, Colorado Springs police handed out several warnings for violating the camping on public property ban.

Police told protesters they have the right to voice their wants, but they have to follow the camping ordinance, which is clearly posted at the park. ?We didn’t put up the tents last night because mostly I think whoever was going to set up the tents fell asleep on the sidewalk,? said protestor Jon Martinez. All of the sleeping tents were packed up, but the protesters said they plan to remain at the park around the clock, even if they risk getting or arrested. Two tents remain up because they serve as information centers, rather than sleeping quarters.
