3 Hurt In Bar Brawl At Dublin House
Three people are hurt in a bar fight that happened at the Dublin House early Friday morning.
Police said there were 20 to 30 people fighting outside the bar around closing time at 1:45 a.m.
“The bars have the last serving at 2 a.m., so that’s when we experience most of the problems,” said Barbara Miller, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Springs Police Department.
According to police, the three people who were hurt are expected to recover.
Miller pointed out that eight officers were sent to break up the fight, which tied up valuable resources. She said when a big brawl breaks out, it is necessary to have enough officers to ensure safety.
She said there is always the danger that weapons may be used.
Miller said police urge patrons to look out for warning signs. She said patrons should call police if they suspect a fight may break out.
According to police, it is easier for officer to prevent a fight than to break one up.
Officers also said it is important for bar customers to have a designated driver because they are less likely to get tied up in a fight.
