Robbery Bust In Lamar

Lamar Police Department stopped an attempted robbery Thursday after receiving a tip.

Officers learned that there was going to be a robbery attempt in the 100 block of East Beech Street. Officers patrolled the area during the time the incident was supposed to occur and learned the suspect was inside the business.

Officers located Eric Montoya-Martinez inside being held down by some patrons of the business. He was arrested for two counts of attempted aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Montoya-Martinez is being held at Prowers County Jail on a $16,000 bond.
