Occupy COS Future To Occupy Acacia Park

Occupy organizers meet with the City of Colorado Springs to stay in Acacia park. City Senior Planner Ryan Tefertiller met with group leaders Tuesday afternoon. Tefertiller discussed what’s called revocable permit that the group could apply for as early as Wednesday.

The permit process means Occupy will have to submit its plans for where their info and medical tents would be placed and to insure that those tents and protesters wouldn’t be blocking the right of way for anything or anyone in and around the park.

The permit costs 100 dollars and still has go through city administrators to determine if it meets their criteria. If approved, it still means that organizers would not be able to put up tents to live in, only use sleeping bags near the info and medical tents.
