Canoe Creek Standoff Over

A standoff at a home on Canoe Creek Drive in Colorado Springs has ended without any shots fired.

Police officials said they were called out to a home on the 1500 block of Canoe Creek Drive Saturday afternoon on a domestic violence report. Officials said Keith Johnson, 57, refused to come out of his home.

Officials said Johnson also told police he would shoot himself or shoot at police. Roads were closed in the area while negotiators worked to get Johnson to come out peacefully.

Police eventually fired tear gas into Johnson’s home, and he surrendered without incident.

Officials said Johnson faced charges of 3rd degree assault and failure to leave premises .
