K-9 Helps Nab Suspect

Colorado Springs police say a wanted felon is behind bars thanks to a K-9 officer.

Police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 4300 block of Hunting Meadows Circle.

Officers say a bail bondsman called and reported that a suspect wanted on a felony warrant was hiding in a house.

Police contained the area and repeatedly told the suspect to come out.

Police K-9 Officer Rico and handler Troy Bauer gave additional commands and warnings to come out.

Rico was sent to search for the suspect.

Rico found the suspect, biting hand holding him until officers arrived and took Shawn Joseph Bell into custody.
