Not A Tricky Halloween Season

Halloween sales are expected to jump this season according to the National Retail Federation.

They predict 7 out of 10 Americans will celebrate the spooky holiday, in comparison to 6 out of 10 last year.

“This is going to be the best season since before the recession absolutely,” said Mark Modeer, President, Zeezo’s.

Zeezo’s, a Colorado Springs Halloween retailer, also predicts his sales will be up by 10 percent. Modeer said it comes down to more buyers. “We’re seeing more people reuse/recycle than ever before. People are coming to us to get the accessories, that’s where we shine…. pieces, parts, wigs and capes,” said Modeer.

The National Retail Federation predicts $1 billion in sales across the country for children’s costumes, that’s up from $840 million last year.

But, Modeer said most of his business comes the last 10 days before Halloween.
