Man Arrested After Drive-By Shooting

A man is under arrest after a drive-by at a Colorado Springs Popeye’s Chicken on Austin Bluffs Parkway.

Officers say Jerry Martinez had just come out of the restaurant just after 4 p.m. Friday when a Gold Pontiac Grand Prix pulled up next to him and someone inside fired a shot.That shot missed him and hit a vehicle parked in the lot. The Pontiac took off on Austin Bluffs Parkway. Police say Martinez knows the suspect and identified him as 21-year-old Steven Vigil. Police say they went to Vigil’s home and arrested him without incident.

Officers say they are still trying to find the vehicle. It’s a 1999 Grand Prix in excellent condition, possibly with Colorado plates 306-VTT. The passenger side window is broken. If you spot it please call Colorado Springs Police at 444-7000.
