Improvements To Downtown Pueblo

Pueblo is looking to revitalize its downtown, but city leaders need your help to get it done. The idea is to improve the flow of traffic downtown.

?I have seen a lot of improvement lately,? said Jake Sewell, a Pueblo resident.

Many agreed with him.

?Downtown Pueblo is pretty good and it’s changed a lot in the past two years. It use to be a little shabby back in the day,? said Ijh Shepard.

Now, the city wants to do even more. Several ideas are being discussed. One is to add bike lanes to almost every street downtown. Another, is to improve the flow of traffic by adding or removing lanes. There?s talk of adding a few parking spaces, too.

Each idea is listed on the city?s website. The alternatives outline what each change will be under that specific plan.

?I vote yes,? said Sewell.

The city has announced that they want more public input.

?I think they could go a few steps furthers with out a lot of expense. They have a nature park, but it needs a little more nature,? said Dan Kinder, a Pueblo resident.

?The roads are OK, but they could widen the sidewalks. They’re watching out for bike riders but if there is a bunch of pot holes you can’t really maneuver too well with a bunch of potholes, ? said Shepard.

You can log onto the city?s website to email them your thoughts.
