Vehicle Causes Deadly Accident, Flees Scene

The Colorado State Patrol is trying to find a vehicle and driver involved in a deadly crash on Oct. 4th.

The crash happened on Highway 92, between Delta and Hotchkiss.

A white sedan was traveling eastbound when it veered into the oncoming traffic lane, causing a westbound pickup to swerve and slide off the roadway.

The pickup’s driver, 67-year-old James Hodges of Paonia, sustained minor injuries during the crash. His wife, 66-year-old Alice Hodges, sustained serious injuries and died at a local hospital.

The white sedan did not stop and fled the scene. It is believed to be a newer-model, compact sedan. There is no description of the driver.

Anyone with information about the white sedan or its driver is urged to call Trooper Darel Reed at 970-249-4392 or 970-249-9575.
