Bent County Jail Fire Sends Inmates To Hospital

A fire in the Bent County jail send 4 inmates to the hospital.

The Colorado Bureau Of Investigation was called in to investigate the fire that happened here at Tuesday evening. If an inmate is responsible, they could face charges.

At this point, we do not have evidence that this was an intentional act. That will be a portion of what CBI will be able to provide.

?The facility requires going through multiple access points. All inmates are accompanied when being moved from one location to another,?

?He said, Mom, they kept us locked in their and they didn?t help. They kept us locked in there and he was very considered about the other prisoners and he broke windows and glass was in his foot,?

SHE?S ANGRY AT THE WAY EVERYTHING WAS HANDLED.

?He said there was an act of negligence regarding them being locked in the cell during the fire,?

SHE PLANS TO REQUEST AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION.

THE BENT COUNTY SHERIFF?S OFFICE HAS ALREADY ASKED CBI TO STEP IN.

The staff is very well trained to follow all proceeds.

ALL FOUR INMATES WERE RELEASED?AS SOON AS WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION WE WILL BRING IT TO YOU.

THE 4 INMATES RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL WERE RELOCATED TO PROWLERS COUNTY JAIL.
