Man Tries To Invade Home, Asks Directions
Colorado Springs Police continue their investigation of a home invasion Monday.
According to police reports, a male suspect came to the front door of a 73-year-old man on the 6000 block of Whetstone Dr.
The suspect asked for directions to a local store and asked to go inside the home. The victim kept the screen locked and drew a map for the suspect. He then opened the door to hand the map to the suspect.
The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money. He tried to push his way into the home, but the suspect pushed back. In the struggle, the suspect slammed the victim’s head into the porch before fleeing.
The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he is being treated for a closed head injury and lacerations to his head and elbow.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 18-25, about 5’6″, medium build, and was wearing a gray Polo type shirt, gray pants and black shoes. He was seen getting into the passenger seat of a newer model Honda two-door sedan, with a sunroof and silver spoke wheels.
