Good Samartians Help Catch Purse Snatchers

A group of good Samaritans stopped two people police said were attempting to rob a 66-year-old woman.

Police said the men forcefully took the woman’s purse while she was shopping inside the Walgreens on North Circle Drive at about 1:30 p.m.

Several other shoppers saw the incident and began calling police. Some witnesses began chasing the suspects down, while others flagged down a police officer for help, officials said.

Police said the victim had minor injuries. She was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Investigators said they arrested Willis Jenkins, 18, and a juvenile.
