Teen Faces Felony Charges

A 16-year-old faces two felony charges after police say he punched his grandmother and head butted a police officer.

Colorado Springs police say they responded to an assault call in the 4100 block of Charleston Drive just before 7 p.m. Saturday. They say the boy’s grandmother told them that her grandson punched her in the face twice, and that when her husband tried to help her the boy shoved him to the floor twice. The grandson’s twin brother also tried to help but was assaulted, according to police. Both grandparents and the twin brother were treated on the scene by AMR. The officer was taken to Memorial Hospital where they fixed up a cut above his eye.

When officers tried to arrest the boy they say he head butted the officer, and struggled for awhile before police handcuffed him.

Now the boy faces charges of Second Degree Assault on a Police Officer and Third Degree Assault on an at Risk Adult, both of which are felonies.
