One Killed In Head-On Crash
State troopers are investigating a deadly head-on crash in Baca County.
Troopers say a Springfield man was driving a 2002 Ford Windstar minivan on Highway 287 just before 2 p.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line, crashing into a semi. The minivan went backward and spun off the highway, Phillip Kelly, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Semi went off the road, through a fence and came to a stop in a field. Two people in the Semi suffered moderate injuries and were treated and released.
Investigators say alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash.
