“Flag Guy” Honors 9/11 Victims
One man has been waving his American flag at a Colorado Springs intersection for the last decade to honor the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks and the lives that continue to be lost.
Criss Seal has been a fixture at the intersection of Galley and Academy every 9/11 since 2002, giving passers-by a thumbs up.
?It?s gone fast,? said Criss Seal. ?It’s definitely gone fast.?
The community has been showing its support with honks, waves and shouts of thanks.
?The feeling that you get from it, the pride that you have, the effect that you have on everybody,? said Seal. ?It’s awesome.?
Some showed their support by joining him on the corner, with flags in hand.
?People just slowly started coming out noticing that I had been coming back and that every year I was here,? said Seal. ?And now, people are like, ?I know you’ll be here on this day.??
?He (Seal) is very dedicated to this,? said Shawn Hart, who stood on the corner with Criss. ?He’s been out here for years. (He) believes in this country.?
Also in attendance, some who weren?t even alive the day America was attacked.
?It?s awesome to see that,? said Seal. ?So many different people, you know, all coming together with that same passion and that same drive.?
?I?m not for the war, and I?m not against the war,? said Seal. ?But, I am for the men and women that fight for this country to keep us free.?
Seal said he has no plans to ever stop the tradition he started. He said you can expect to see him out at the same intersection for many years to come.
