Driver Killed In Suspected DUI Crash

A driver is dead after slamming into a guardrail Saturday morning, according to Pueblo police.

Investigators believe he may have been driving drunk. Officials said the 23-year-old man was headed north on Interstate 25 in a Toyota Camry, and lost control as he tried to exit onto the Highway 50 bypass.

Pueblo police said the car hit a guardrail and rolled across the east bound lanes of highway 50, colliding into a GMC Yukon before landing in the west bound lanes.

The driver was partial ejected and died at the scene. His name has not been released. Four other passengers in the Toyota were taken to Parkview Hospital– three of them are in serious condition, police said.

A 33-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman in the GMC Yukon were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Yukon was arrested on three outstanding warrants.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
