Flags Vandalized In Pueblo

An American and Colorado flag are in the hands of investigators after the flags were desecrated by vandals in Pueblo.

On Tuesday morning, when the Chamber Of Commerce President Rod Slyhodd walked into work, be new something wasn?t right.

?When we came to work, we noticed the flags gone, and the rope had been cut,” said Slyhoff.

Two people found the Pueblo, Colorado and American flags on the ground and turned them in to police on Monday, according to police. The police reports states, ?I took possession of the flags and noticed each to be heavily soiled.? It appears someone burned the ropes in order to bring down the flag.

?Its just unfortunate that anyone would do anything with the flag or the Colorado flag,? said Slyhoff.

James Dickerson, a Pueblo resident, was not alarmed. ?Vandalizing flags, religious symbols, churches seems to be happening. It’s a lack of respect. Sadly enough it doesn’t seem like a surprising thing,? said Dickerson. Both Dickerson and Slyhoff said the incident is really disheartening considering the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is just days away.

The Chamber of Commerce will be replacing the flags as soon as it can.
