Owner Of Robbed Store Offers Reward

The owner of a Colorado Springs GameStop is offering a $5,000 reward to help find the person responsible for stabbing one of his employees during a robbery.

The robbery happened back in March at the Game Stop at 3732 Bloomington St. During the robbery one of the employees was stabbed several times with a small knife, police said. That employee was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

The other employee told officers that a man had entered the store and demanded money from the registers, police said. During the robbery, both employees were threatened with a knife by the suspect, said police. The second employee received minor wounds as a result of the encounter, police said. The suspect was able to take cash out of the registers, according to police.

The suspect fled the store on foot, running to the west, toward Powers Blvd., said police. He was has not been found since the robbery.

He is described as white or Hispanic, in his 20s 5?7 to 5?10, 140 to 160 pounds of slender build, said police

The suspect may be responsible for other robberies in the area, according to police.

Now a $5,000.00 reward is being added by the owner of The Game Stop to show support of the employees in the hope that someone might come forward with information on the identity of the suspect.

The reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers and the caller?s tip must lead to an arrest and conviction of the suspect to qualify, according to CrimeStoppers. You can contact Colorado Springs Area CrimeStoppers at 643-STOP.
