Police Investigate YouTube Fight

Teenagers and young adults who videotape fights and post them on the internet are attracting an audience that could get them in trouble.

One of the latest videos shows a group watching a violent fight between two males. The video was posted on June 1. Soon after, Woodland Park police began investigating.

Police said the fight began in Woodland Park, then the group moved to Rampart Range Road in El Paso County.

“This one turned out to be pretty graphic video unfortunately,” said school resource officer Sgt. Sean Goings.

Goings said the video was a good tip for officers because they?ve been able to identify almost everyone in the video, including one of the males fighting. Both could face charges.

?In the city of Woodland Park, we have a statue for fighting, brawling, assault or harassment,? said Goings.

Goings warns students and young adults not to fight, just walk away.

?It’s basically going to get you in trouble, it’s something you don’t want to do,” he said.
