USA Pro Cycling Challenge

Some of the world’s best cyclists were in Colorado Springs for the inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge.

The race was a 5 mile ride that was all about speed, challenging cyclists to stay in control during the downhill course.

These are the results of the first of seven races:

1st Germany Patrick Gretsch 2nd USA Christian Vande Velde 3rd USA Brent Bookwalter

Gretsch said he will continue to defend his current title for as long as possible.

Cyclists that are stronger climbers may have a better shot in the rest of the races because those include a sharp gain in elevation.

Some cyclists at the event said they considered this challenge one of the most difficult they have participated in because of the high elevation.
