Neighbors Awakened By Gunshots

A Fountain man caused an early-morning disturbance, firing off several shots in his neighborhood, police said.

Officials said Michael Jones, 29, had been drinking and got into an argument with his parents. Investigators said he fired off shots at his parents as they fled the home on the 800 block of Candlestar Loop around 1 a.m.

Bullets hit the home and at least one passing car, but no one was hurt, officials said.

Police found Jones walking in the area and he was arrested. A gun was recovered.

Authorities said Jones faced several charges, including, menacing, attempted assault, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
