“Tar Baby” Scandal Leads to Citizens Advisory Board

Congressman Doug Lamborn’s using the phrase “Tar Baby” has led to a change.

After meeting with miniority leaders in his district, Rep. Lamborn announced he is creating a new citizens advisory board.

“Today’s meeting is a valuable opportunity for me to hear from constituents. I am constantly looking for ways to do an even better job of representing the good people of the 5th Congressional District in Washington. Having a board of community leaders to advise me will hopefully give me an even better perspective on issues of concern to the minority community” Rep. Lamborn told KRDO Newschannel 13.

Last month on a Denver radio show, Rep. Lamborn made a reference to the to the President and a “tar baby.” Congressman Doug Lamborn sent a personal letter to President Barack Obama apologizing for using a term some find insensitive. Lamborn was attempting to tell a radio audience that the President’s policies have created an economic quagmire for the nation and are responsible for the dismal economic conditions our country faces.
