Defense: Dougherty’s Medical Needs Not Being Met

The Dougherty trio appeared in Pueblo County Court Monday morning.

Prosecutors told the judge they want to have the trial in Huerfano County because that is where the chase ended.

The filling of the charges in Huerfano County will happen on Aug. 22. They will be in court again on Aug. 29 to discuss their charges in Pueblo.

The three lead police on a nationwide chase that ended on Wednesday.

During a brief appearance in Pueblo County Court on Monday, the defense attorney for Ryan Dougherty, 21, told the judge Ryan has a bump on his head and he thinks he has a concussion.

The defense attorney told the judge Ryan was not getting proper medical attention from staff in the jail.

The judge told the defense attorney that was an issue for the attorney to discuss with officials at the jail.

Dylan Stanley Dougherty, 26, also appeared in court. Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, did not appear in court.

They were arrested for attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault on a police officer.

They are also facing charges in Florida and Georgia.

All three were taken to the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in Walsenburg after the accident to be checked for any medical problems before being released to the Pueblo County Jail.
